London Russian Ballet School

We offer classes for boys. Many of these come from our outreach programme, we have six classes per week for boys ranging in age from 8 -19 years. These are taught by Russian male teachers, which is an important inspiration for the boys. Many local boys held unjustified prejudices about ballet which they have dispelled with their own hard work.

We have many other boys who have come with an interest which they have been able to develop because we can offer strong male teachers as role models together with a large number of other young boys who are also taking lessons. The boys do not feel that they are doing something different they feel they are active and athletic.
Technique and understanding are important from an early age. The lessons are strict but with the appropriate level of enjoyment. All boys need to move and to learn to control their bodies to move wonderfully, like their teachers, who must be a constant inspiration.

There are annual exams, as for the girls, but not before the age of 11.-12.
