A Big Thank You to Tamsin Gregory!
2013-05-08

We would like to say a big Thank you to Tamsin Gregory who ran the London Marathon on Sunday 21st April 2013 in aid of our charity Kids Love Lambeth colleting in sponsorship £295.00.

Tamsin, who comes regularly to LRBS to Intermediate Ballet class, says, “The ballet training I've received with LRBS was an incredible help in preparing me physically and mentally for the race and also gave me the strength to recover from it very swiftly (I'm usually hobbling around for at least a week after!).”

Tamsin finished the 26.3mile race in 4hours and 19 minutes and came 15,282nd out of over 34,000 runners.

Well done, Tamsin! Thank you for your support!

Thank you to all who sponsored Tamsin in aid of our charity “Kids Love Lambeth”!

Talk on Russian Ballet by Jane Pritchard, Curator of Dance at Victoria and Albert Museum
2013-05-01

On the 17th April 2013 the London Russian Ballet School was pleased to host a talk by Mrs Jane Pritchard, Curator of Dance at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Mrs Pritchard, who has recently organised the Diaghilev exhibition at the V&A, is, as many of you will know, one of the world’s leading experts on the history and development of ballet, and her talk – to cover the period from the Russian Imperial Ballet, Marius Petipa, Ballets Russes through to the Soviet era – was one no ballet-lover wanted to miss. We were fortunate that Mrs Pritchard had made her time available to the School and to the charity, which was an exceptional circumstance for which we are extremely grateful.

Recent Outreach Performances
2013-03-08

We have had two outreach performances: on 1st March at Stockwell Primary and on 8th March at Kings Avenue Primary School.

A big Thank You to the dancers, teachers, parents, organisers and helpers!

The reaction of the audience that consisted of Year 1 and 2 children was incredible. The Russian Dance from   Swan Lake and Toreador's Bolero from Don Quixote were especially popular: the boys and girls were moving to the music, mesmerised by the beautiful performance of LRBS students.

Well done!

LRBS performed at the Britten Theatre, Royal College of Music. On the 14th July London Russian Ballet School performed highlights form Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake. This was a fundraising evening for our charity, Kids Love Lambeth. We would like to thank everybody who came to this performance for your kind support!
Outreach Performance, Stockwell Primary School
As a part of our outreach programme, on the 3rd July LRBS performed the 2nd act of "Swan Lake" at Stockwell Primary School in Lambeth.

The aim of LRBS is to pass on the priceless heritage and tradition of Russian ballet, increasing aspirations and opening doors in the process for everyone to a beautiful world. Kids Love Lambeth works with LRBS to create access to ballet where there is little or none. This is achieved through clubs and performance work at local schools. Students from LRBS performed and talked to the children at Stockwell Primary School in Lambeth.

London Russian Ballet School is the only vocational ballet school in England to offer tuition in the Russian Syllabus. It is unique in offering opportunity to all regardless of background or financial means. All students are welcomed and given the chance to experience the highest standards of teaching.Furthermore, LRBS works with its charity Kids Love Lambeth to teach ballet and perform in Lambeth schools where children would otherwise have no experience of the art or music associated with ballet. It performs regularly throughout the year at the Britten Theatre where free seats are made available to children from Lambeth. Its aim is both to share and pass on the heritage of Russian ballet and culture through dedication and discipline.
