Russian Ballet Pilates Workout

This is the exercise routine based on ballet and pilates with many of the very positive benefits that ballet provides. If you already go to the gym it will provide a further dimension for your body in addition to the treadmill. In fact, many of our clients have given up their gym membership. If you want to learn something new and demanding then this is for you because like ballet the process is endless. If you are new to ballet or serious about ballet the workout is an essential addition.

The exercise routine was developed by Evgeny Goremykin and is based on the traditional exercise programmes found in the great Russian ballet schools. It is fully proportional and will strengthen, tone and elongate muscles. It is excellent for posture, flexibility and core strength. It is very helpful with lower back problems.

Exercises are done on the floor with some barre work at the end of the routine for the more advanced. Classes are daily in the morning, ideal after the school run. In the evening they are an alternative or addition to ballet after work and on Saturday afternoon they are just plain fun and hard work.

The more advanced classes with Evgeny are on Wednesday and Friday mornings at 9.30am, the slower classes recommended for beginners are on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9.30am. The evening classes are the same level and a great way to wind down after work with calming music, to stretch and to compensate for computer posture after a long day.
