As an individual or a company you may sponsor a student of any age in any capacity. Such support offers life changing opportunities to so many in a multitude of ways. The rewards are enormous, whether you sponsor a student's vocational tuition or provide funds for the purchase of his/her ballet shoes!
LRBS welcomes all support. The most valuable way to assist us is to make a donation to the school. Donations can be made personally from individuals, through a Trust or Foundation or even as part of a legacy. Corporate support is also very welcome. All donations directly benefit the students who attend the School. You can download our LRBS DONATION FORM and choose one of the payment options listed on the form.
Become a Friend: for a subscription of £25.00 you will receive information about performances and be invited to attend school events. For further information please download the subscription form.
If you are a UK taxpayer please remember to complete the gift aid declaration.
LRBS is an independent but inclusive ballet school. Places on vocational courses are offered regardless of financial background or ability to pay. As the school expands and demand for classes increases, we are eager to look for additional support to ensure the ethos of accessibility is maintained.
Performances, guest teachers from Russia, costumes, sets, tours, exchanges with other vocational schools and outreach work all form a vital part of a professional school and need considerable and solid funding.
Our outreach is taken very seriously. Both vocational students and dancers from LRBS participate in these performances which are an invaluable part of LRBS's community role, as they serve to increase the aspirations and involvement of young people in the world of ballet. Funds are needed to cover the costs of transportation of our stage, flooring, costumes, music and lighting to and from events and for staff who work “behind the scenes”. On average an outreach performance costs £500. Each performance is usually viewed by over 250 children, with over 1800 children watching our performances last year! As part of the programme, children from Lambeth may attend any LRBS performance with their families free of charge. We also regularly perform to help raise funds for Trinity Hospice plus other charities.

SPONSORING A PERFORMANCE
LRBS performs regularly throughout the year. At present LRBS must underwrite all costs in order to provide professional practice, training and repertoire. Sponsorship and funding are needed for such things as scenery, costumes, seats in the theatre for underprivileged children, lighting, sound, advertising, transport and theatre hire.
INTERNATIONAL TOURS AND EXCHANGES
It is vital that all students enjoy the experience of performing in front of an international audience as it offers the opportunity to gain an understanding of the working life of a ballet dancer in a touring company. At the same time, students are made aware of the standards of other ballet companies. Tours and exchanges create a different dimension to the training of the student which helps realise and re-inforce the work undertaken in the ballet studio.
Students need to judge themselves in an international context in front of great dancers and choreographers. It is also a vital part of repertoire practice in order to develop technique and artistry and to help instil confidence. Such evaluations are important for all the students progressing through the school as they give the dancers something to aspire to. Help is needed to fund the cost of travel, accommodation, fees, choreography and costumes.
GUEST TEACHER PROGRAMME
LRSB is unique as it is the only Russian Ballet School in London! It has close links with the great Russian schools, teachers and theatres. It is essential to expose LRBS students to the breadth of the Russian heritage and culture through a working guest teacher programme and exchange facility for students. This is an enriching experience at every level. The future facilities of LRBS will enable coaching work at its most profound to be viewed by a wide range of students. Sponsorship is required for travel, accommodation, visas and fees.
LRBS firmly believes that students must be well rounded, educated individuals as they are striving to be artists - an artist is essentially a cultured person. Furthermore, as dancers may later wish to pursue a career away from ballet, LRBS offers academic non-vocational A-levels in the humanities, languages, Art and Maths. GCSEs are currently being offered in Latin and Russian to all students who wish to pursue these subjects. Costs of highly qualified academic teachers must be met together with costs of books and materials.
